About 90% of the components necessary for the construction of ITER are made up of in-kind contributions, which are procured by each of the ITER Parties and delivered to the construction site. The ITER Agreement specifies that these must be implemented through the ITER Parties’ domestic agencies.
QST was designated as the domestic agency of the ITER Project in Japan, which procures the equipment and devices allocated to Japan, such as the superconducting coils, and plays the role of contact between Japan and the ITER Organization for managing personnel contributed from Japan to the ITER Project.
