Call for Application

The Fusion Energy Forum of Japan (FEFJ), chaired by Dr. Naomasa Nakajima, Emeritus Professor of the University of Tokyo and Headmaster of Kaiyo Academy, opened call for application of Masaji Yoshikawa Memorial Prize for Fusion Energy.

The deadline is 17 May 2021.

Research scientists, students, engineers, teachers and science communicators younger than 40 years old as of 1 April 2021 are eligible to apply. Eligible activities are the following

  • 1)Research and technology development activities directly related to ITER project or BA activities.
  • 2)Research and technology development activities necessary for realization of fusion energy except for 1), or the basic and fundamental activities which are expected to contribute to 1) in future.
  • 3)Investigation and research activities which contribute to the scenario development for realization of fusion energy or for solving energy and environment problem by application of fusion energy, from long time range viewpoint.
  • 4)Cooperation with and contribution to the society, education, publicity and edification activities about the fusion energy and related research, development, utilization, practical usage and safety evaluation, etc.

The winner(s) will be awarded to "Encouragement Prize" or, in case of outstanding achievement, "Excellent Prize". Award ceremony will be held in the plenary Meeting of Fusion Energy Forum of Japan in the same fiscal year.
