The Fusion Energy Forum of Japan (FEFJ), chaired by Dr. Takamitsu Sawa, Research Adviser of the International Institute for Advanced Studies, opened call for application of Masaji Yoshikawa Memorial Prize for Fusion Energy.

The deadline is 23 May 2022.

Research scientists, students, engineers, teachers and science communicators younger than 40 years old as of 1 April 2022 are eligible to apply. Eligible activities are the following

  • 1)Research and technology development activities directly related to ITER project or BA activities.
  • 2)Research and technology development activities necessary for realization of fusion energy except for 1), or the basic and fundamental activities which contribute to 1) in future.
  • 3)Investigation and research activities which contribute to the scenario development for realization of fusion energy or for solving energy and environment problem by application of fusion energy, from long time range viewpoint.
  • 4)Cooperation with and contribution to the society, education, publicity and edification activities about the fusion energy.

The winner(s) will be awarded to "Encouragement Prize" or, in case of outstanding achievement, "Excellent Prize". Award ceremony will be held in the plenary Meeting of Fusion Energy Forum of Japan in the same fiscal year.
